CASE STUDY

Digital microscopes bring ocean wonders to children

At Naturcenter Amager Strand in Denmark, TAGARNO digital microscopes turn invisible marine life into engaging, interactive learning for children.

Naturcenter Amager Strand, an educational nature center located by the Øresund coastline near Copenhagen, Denmark, introduces children and young people to marine life and environmental awareness through hands-on learning experiences.

Bringing marine life into the classroom

As part of this mission, the center has integrated TAGARNO’s digital microscopes into its teaching — and the results speak for themselves: curiosity, engagement, and fascination.

In the scenic surroundings of the Øresund, students get the chance to explore marine microfauna in detail. Using TAGARNO’s digital microscope, tiny sea creatures such as shrimp, sandhoppers, and other microscopic organisms are magnified and displayed in real time on a large screen.

By pointing out details of a live shrimp magnified in high resolution, the employees at Naturcenter Amager Strand guide shows how TAGARNO makes learning interactive, visual, and unforgettable.

Making science visible — and relatable

“When the children see the animals moving live and on a big scale, it becomes much easier to explain how they live and why they matter,” explains one of the employees.

The intuitive, high-quality live images spark curiosity and fascination, creating a dynamic classroom environment where students can interact, ask questions, and explore together. Instead of just hearing about marine biology, they can see it unfold right in front of them.

The images included here show how it works in practice: a living marine animal is displayed in high resolution on a large screen, while both teacher and students can point, explain, and ask questions together.

At Naturcenter Amager Strand, the employees use the TAGARNO digital microscope to reveal hidden marine life, turning complex science into a shared experience on the big screen.

A platform for curiosity and care for nature

With TAGARNO, the nature center gains not just a technological tool but a learning platform that bridges the gap between technology and environmental education.

From TAGARNO UNO to TAGARNO TREND

At Naturcenter Amager Strand, the magic happens with both a TAGARNO UNO and a TAGARNO TREND digital microscope. While the UNO has served the center well for many years, it’s the TREND that continues to set the standard for modern teaching. With powerful magnification, crystal-clear live images, the ability to display even the tiniest marine creatures on a large screen with an on-screen rule to show their true size, the TREND makes science lessons more visual, interactive, and inspiring than ever.
